29 Apr Just a Minute (or two) With The Coach | Learn How To Keep A Tight Back In The Bench Press
Coach Jesse shows a lifter how to keep the tension in his upper-back when he tries to bench press. Cues like “spread the bar apart” and “bend the barbell in half” are used by coaches to teach a new lifter how to keep his back tight and shoulders locked in for the bench press.
But cues like this don’t always work. Sometimes the lifter doesn’t know what this is supposed to feel like and so can’t imitate it. This little drill actually puts them in a position where they can feel what this means.
